DON'T MOCK ME BOY! NFLTBs Final 2024 Mock Draft

I think we are really going to see teams trying to trade player and draft capital to get into the top 6 to select these quarterbacks. I only included the Vikings and the Raiders here, because I think the Vikings MUST move up, and I think another team will as well. The Raiders just seem to have more ammunition to make that happen and they have a great need there.

Crazy NFL draft war room with papers flying everywhere and men freaking out at their laptops
My office as I put the finishing touches on my mock draft

  1. CHICAGO BEARS - Caleb Williams, QB, USC Definitely the best QB in the draft, a generational talent and a guy his teammates (yes, even in Oklahoma) absolutely loved. I hate that he's going to be in my Lions division.

  2. WASHINGTON COMMANDERS - Jayden Daniels, QB, LSU I have McCarthy higher, but I do really like Daniels. Great arm talent, hard worker, amazing athlete.

  3. (TRADE W/ PATRIOTS) MINNESOTA VIKINGS - JJ McCarthy, QB, Michigan Minnesota likely trades both first rounders this year, a first round next year, and gets back a 3rd or 4th this year or next. They NEED a QB. Today. They win the a battle of leverage as I'm sure at least two other teams try and move up to this spot.

  4. ARIZONA CARDINALS - Marvin Harrison Jr, WR, Ohio State Best wide receiver in the draft. Why is this even being argued?

  5. (TRADE W/ CHARGERS) LAS VEGAS RAIDERS - Drake Maye, QB, North Carolina I really am not a Drake Maye fan. Yes his arm. Yes his athleticism. His decision making and accuracy really have some giant red flags though. This is another team that desperately needs a quarterback. They will likely have to give up number 13 this year and at least two seconds, maybe even a first next year, to do this.

  6. NEW YORK GIANTS - Malik Nabers, WR, LSU Or Rome Odunze. I really could even see them trading up for a quarterback and staying and taking Penix.

  7. TENNESEE TITANS - Joe Alt, OT, Notre Dame Ahhh Tennessee benefits from the Chargers trade (I think Harbaugh and Hortiz would have taken him at 5) and select the best tackle in the draft. Will Levis immediately goes on a three day tequila fueled bender in celebration.

  8. ATLANTA FALCONS - Byron Murphy II, DL, Texas There are not many pass rushing tackles in this draft or in the NFL. Enter Byron Murphy. Quarterbacks hate him, the ATL loves him. Scarcity makes him the pick over Dallas Turner.

  9. CHICAGO BEARS - Rome Odunze, WR, Washington Noooooo.....Williams and Odunze? Detroit Lions fans everywhere are cryin' buckets.

  10. NEW YORK JETS - Brock Bowers, TE, Georgia An offensive lineman would also make sense here, but Bowers is too talented to pass up.

  11. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (FROM VIKINGS) - Olumuywa Fashanu, OT, Penn St People are getting on him for his hand size and run blocking, but all the man does it stop you from getting to the quarterback. He's let up a grand total of 0 sacks in 3 years at Penn State. Yes, I did mean to type 0. He was credited for one QB hit in 2022.

  12. DENVER BRONCOS - Michael Penix Jr, QB, Washington The Broncos are in the middle of trying to trade Surtain somewhere to trade into the top 5 to get a quarterback. I'm not sure it happens or not - it's just too many moving parts for this mock draft. I know a lot of people have them taking Bo Nix, but I don't buy it. I don't see how you watch both guys side by side, interview them, and don't come out with Penix a solid favorite. If the don't go quarterback, they could go a bunch of different ways, but I'd bet on a lineman on either side of the ball.

  13. LOS ANGELES CHARGERS (FROM RAIDERS)- Taliese Fuaga, OT, Oregon State Gotta protect Herbert. Gotta enforce your will. Fuaga does both.

  14. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS - Amarius Mims, OT, Georgia They have bunch of holes, but they really gotta have a tackle. Amarius Mims was raw going into the season, but seemed to get better every game. He's just an absolutely insane athlete for his size.

  15. INIANAPOLIS COLTS - Brian Thomas Jr, WR, LSU I think the Colts need a receiver. The Colts think they need a receiver. Anthony Richardson thinks they need a receiver. They take Brian Thomas, I disagree, but it's not about what I would do, it's allll about the Colts. I believe the league is much higher on Brian Thomas than I am.

  16. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS - Dallas Turner, EDGE, Alabama Everyone has the Seahawks running up to the podium to announce an offensive lineman. They absolutely cannot with Turner or one of the other great pass rushers staring them right in the face.

  17. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS - Quinyon Mitchell, CB, Toledo I have Arnold as my number 1 corner, but Mitchell is close behind. This is a crazy steal for Jacksonville to get their top DB here.

  18. CINCINATTI BENGALS - Terrion Arnold, CB, Alabama This is another absolute robbery as the Bengals get the best CB in the draft.

  19. LOS ANGELES RAMS - Jared Verse, EDGE, Florida State The Rams have needs everywhere except for wide receiver. Yes, they could even use a quarterback as Matt Stafford's health is in question. I think they take Jared Verse or Latu here as the talent is too good at edge rusher to pass up.

  20. PITTSBURG STEELERS - Jackson Powers-Johnson, C, Oregon Great guy. Great tape. Steelers get their center for the future.

  21. MIAMI DOLPHINS - Graham Barton, OL, Duke The Dolphins need offensive linemen at multiple spots, Barton is big, nasty, and athletic enough to possibly play all 5 spots. I'd try him out at tackle, and then move him inside if that doesn't work. The guy is just a football player, I wouldn't be surprised if someone takes him in the top 20.

  22. PHILIDELPHIA EAGLES - Cooper DeJean, Iowa One of the best athletes in the draft. Has only played one full year at outside corner and managed to play really well. The sky is the limit for DeJean. I also an impressive kick returner. New rules anyone?

  23. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (FROM VIKINGS) - Jer'Zhan Newton, Illinois There are too many holes to count on this Patriots team, but Newton give them a pass rushing force on the interior. Him next to Barmore is going to be a scary combo. Could go WR here, but I think they address that on the second day, likely at pick 34.

  24. DALLAS COWBOYS - JC Latham, Alabama Dallas gets another big and angry offensive lineman that moves surprisingly well. If he doesn't work at tackle, he has a future on the inside.

  25. GREEN BAY PACKERS - Troy Fautanu, Washington The only reason I have him dropping this far was his medicals on his knee. Short term there is no worry, but the long term prognosis is much hazier. I think the NFL is split on whether to take him or not. A talent this good, with high football character, is just too much to pass up for the Packers here.

  26. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS - Zach Frazier, West Virginia They need lineman BAD. The REALLY need a center. Madman Zach Frazier to the rescue. He's got bees in his belly, hammers on his hands, and murder on his mind. A coaches dream.

  27. ARIZONA CARDINALS - Nate Wiggins, Clemson Talented, feisty, fast. I have him as a second rounder due to his size (173lbs), how grabby he gets instead of using technique, and the slow 10 yard split (1.59) still baffles me. I think I am the only human in the world that has him as their 6th corner. 'Zona don't care though and sees a 4.29 40 rolled up in attitude.

  28. BUFFALO BILLS - Ladd McConkey, Georgia McConkey is just too good not to go in the first round. If he goes in the second, teams are just dumb. Go watch some tape and you'll see this guy putting DBs in a BLENDER.

  29. DETROIT LIONS - Laiatu Latu, UCLA Medicals drop a sure top 15 talent down to the Lions. I also could see them going McKinstry or a big bodied receiver here. Latu is the exact type of player that both Holmes and Campbell routinely write to Santa about.

  30. BALTIMORE RAVENS - Xavier Legette, South Carolina Legette is my FOURTH ranked receiver. I think he's a better prospect than DK Metcalf was, and the comparisons are constant. While he was only productive his last year of college, the man lost both his parents by 2019, had the COVID year, and then sustained motorcycle accident. Lamar Jackson and the Ravens fanbase instantly gets richer.

  31. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS - Chop Robinson, Penn St The 49ers have some young guys on the defensive line that have shown a bit of promise, but not much else. The fastest first step in college football gives some immediate help to Bosa and Hargrave.

  32. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS - Adonai Mitchell, Texas This is another prospect I am lower on than seemingly everyone else. I'd take Pearsall or Wilson, but Reid and Mahomes give me the middle finger and Mitchell scores 12 touchdowns his rookie year.
