SHUTDOWN! NFLTBs Top 10 Cornerbacks of the 2024 NFL Draft

Our top 10 cornerbacks in the NFL Draft! I feel that many scouts look for the wrong aspects when analyzing college corners. Here's our list and our reasoning behind it.

Arnold shows why he's a shutdown corner
Terrion Arnold explaining why he's the best corner in the draft

  1. Terrion Arnold, Alabama Great in every way. Great size and speed. Covered the number ones against Alabama the majority of the time. Very instinctive. Good tackler. A true number one. Gritty, tough player.

  2. Quinyon Mitchell, Toledo Another corner where you like everything about him. Only knocks are his level of competition, but he did dominate everyone he came up against. Got to play in the senior bowl and shutdown everyone there as well. Athletic numbers are world class. The other true number one corner in this class. Love the dog mentality on this one.

  3. Cooper DeJean, Iowa A bit of a projection as he just started playing outside corner. Definitely one of the best athletes in this class without a doubt -maybe the best. Even though he doesn't have a lot of experience on the outside, he play really well there and looks as though he can only get better. Really high ceiling on this guy.

  4. Kool-Aid McKinstry, Alabama Another height/weight/speed guy. Had a bit of a rougher year this year than in 2022, but hard to say if it was the foot injury or not. Will be getting foot surgery soon - still ran a 4.47 with a partial break in it on his pro day. I don't know if you can just leave him on an island like some of the guys above him, but he's an NFL starter for sure.

  5. Khyree Jackson, Oregon 6'3? Actually uses his length to his advantage? Is explosive AND has great coverage instincts? Sign me up. Not quite the fluid hips as some of the prospects rated ahead of him, and didn't great out quite as well. He's billed as a second/third round pick by man, but I have him strongly at the end of the first.

  6. Nate Wiggins, Clemson Ahhhh Nate. A good corner prospect that I'm lower on than....everybody actually. Obviously love the top end speed, attitude, and tenacity. The instincts are rough - really only makes plays that are in front of him and is a step late very often. The 40 was blazing, but the 10 yard split was oddly pedestrian for a top flight corner, and it shows up on tape. Size is most definitely an issue, he's gonna get bullied at the next level. Arm length is also sub par for his height.

  7. Jarrian Jones, Florida State 6' 190lbs, good athlete. His production in man coverage at FSU was excellent. 25.3 passer rating when targeted. Shorter arms than you want from the position, and not the athlete most of these other guys in my top 10 are. I'm also a fan of his teammate, Renardo Green, who just missed the list.

  8. Max Melton, Rutgers He's quickly becoming both a professional and a casual scouts favorite as people begin getting to Rutgers tape, and it's easy to see why. He's a wildly talented athlete, with great quickness and strength. Needs to refine his technique, but he did show flashes of greatness at the senior bowl.

  9. Mike Sainristil, Michigan If it weren't for his size, he'd be much higher up on this list. Great athlete, great attitude, he's going to find playing time at the next level. Just makes plays. He's even a good blitzer. You saw his size really impact him in the two playoff games this year, especially the championship.

  10. TJ Tampa, Iowa State I get the love for Tampa, and boyyyy is he well loved at Iowa State and a lot of the scouting community. In the NFL, to me, he's a zone corner. He'll get burned if you have him man to man for any length of time. He needs to see plays develop in front of him. If he's in a zone scheme, he has the chance to develop into a solid corner.
